Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • ½ cup cream cheese or ricotta cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
  • Fresh basil or thyme, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Puff Pastry

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut into small squares or circles (about 3-4 inches in size).
  4. Place the pastry pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 2: Prepare the Filling

  1. In a small bowl, mix cream cheese (or ricotta) with Parmesan, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Spread a thin layer of this mixture onto each puff pastry square, leaving a small border around the edges.

Step 3: Assemble the Tartlets

  1. Arrange sliced cherry tomatoes on top of the cheese layer.
  2. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with oregano.
  3. (Optional) Brush the pastry edges with egg wash for a golden finish.

Step 4: Bake

  1. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and puffed up.
  2. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.

Step 5: Garnish & Serve

  1. Sprinkle fresh basil or thyme on top before serving.
  2. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use Ripe Tomatoes – Sweet, ripe tomatoes enhance the flavor.
Keep Pastry Cold – Chilled puff pastry bakes up flakier.
Don’t Overload the Toppings – Too much moisture can make the pastry soggy.
