Description

When you’re craving something crispy, cheesy, and totally addictive, Crispy Parmesan Fried Tortellini is the snack you need in your life. These golden, bite-sized pillows of pasta are everything you want in a party appetizer or cozy weekend indulgence—crunchy on the outside, tender and cheesy on the inside, and bursting with flavor in every bite.

Think of them as the Italian cousin of mozzarella sticks—but better. Whether you’re dipping them into warm marinara, creamy Alfredo, or just enjoying them as they are, one bite is never enough.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Fried Tortellini:

  • 1 (9 oz) package refrigerated cheese tortellini (or your favorite variety)

  • ¾ cup Italian-style breadcrumbs

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¼ cup milk

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

For Serving:

  • Warm marinara sauce (or other favorite dip)

  • Chopped fresh parsley (optional)

  • Extra Parmesan (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Boil the Tortellini

Bring salted water to a boil. Cook tortellini for 1–2 minutes—just until slightly tender. Don’t overcook. Drain and cool.

Step 2: Prepare the Breading Station

In one bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
In a second bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, and pepper.

Step 3: Bread the Tortellini

Dip each tortellini into the egg mixture, then into the breadcrumb-Parmesan mix. For extra crunch, double-dip!

Step 4: Fry Until Golden

Heat 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat (around 350°F). Fry tortellini in small batches for 2–3 minutes per side until crisp and golden.

Step 5: Drain & Serve

Place fried tortellini on a paper towel-lined plate or wire rack. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and more Parmesan.

Serve hot with marinara or your favorite dip!

Notes

  • Game Day Appetizer – Serve in a bowl with toothpicks and dip.

  • Charcuterie Addition – Adds crunchy contrast to cheese and meats.

  • Movie Night Snack – Better than popcorn, hands down.

  • Pasta Night Twist – A fun side dish with soup or salad.
