- ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- ½ cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3: Prepare Wet Ingredients
3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. 4. Add the mashed bananas and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. 5. Beat in the egg until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Step 5: Fold in Chocolate Chips
7. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed in the dough.
Step 6: Scoop and Bake
8. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. 9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown.
Step 7: Cool and Enjoy
10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use ripe bananas – The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your cookies will be.
- Don’t overmix – Once the flour is added, mix gently to avoid tough cookies.
- Chill the dough – If you prefer thicker cookies, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking.
