Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat)

  • 1 small cucumber, grated and drained

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp fresh mint, chopped (optional)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Optional Additions:

  • ¼ tsp ground cumin (for warmth)

  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (for a little heat)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cucumber
Grate the cucumber and place it in a clean kitchen towel.
Squeeze out as much water as possible to keep the dip thick and creamy.
Set aside.

Step 2: Mash the Avocado
In a medium bowl, mash the avocado with a fork or masher until mostly smooth.
Leave some small chunks for texture, or blend for a silky finish.

Step 3: Mix with Yogurt
Add the Greek yogurt to the mashed avocado.
Stir until well combined and creamy.

Step 4: Add Flavor Boosters
Stir in the grated cucumber, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, dill, mint, salt, and pepper.
Add cumin or red pepper flakes if you want a bit more depth or spice.

Step 5: Chill and Serve
Cover and refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes.
This allows the flavors to meld and makes the dip extra refreshing.
Serve chilled.

Notes

Use Ripe Avocado – Soft, bright green flesh blends easily and tastes buttery.
Drain the Cucumber – Too much water will make the dip runny.
Balance the Garlic – Fresh garlic is strong; start with less and adjust.
Fresh Herbs = Big Flavor – Use fresh dill and mint for the most vibrant taste.
Chill Before Serving – It tastes better after sitting for 30 minutes in the fridge.
