Ingredients

Scale

For the Bread:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups apples (peeled and chopped, any variety)

For the Cinnamon Sugar Swirl:

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. Preheat & Prepare the Pan
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

3. Combine Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. Make the Batter
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.

5. Layer the Cinnamon Swirl
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it. Add the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the cinnamon sugar. Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon through the batter.

6. Bake the Bread
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

7. Slice & Enjoy!
Slice when completely cooled and enjoy with butter, honey, or a cup of coffee!

Notes

  • Use Fresh Apples: Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji apples work best.
  • Don’t Overmix: Stir just until combined for a soft, tender crumb.
  • Check for Doneness: Ovens vary, so check with a toothpick around 50 minutes.
