Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized russet potatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes
- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt.
- Pat them dry with a towel.
- Prick each potato a few times with a fork to allow steam to escape during cooking.
Step 2: Season the Potatoes
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil to coat the skins.
- Sprinkle salt, pepper, and any other seasonings you like (garlic powder, paprika, etc.) over the potatoes.
Step 3: Air Fry the Potatoes
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) (optional, depending on your air fryer model).
- Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they’re not overcrowded.
- Cook for 35–40 minutes, flipping the potatoes halfway through for even cooking. The potatoes are done when they’re tender on the inside (test by inserting a fork or knife) and the skin is crispy.
Step 4: Serve & Enjoy!
- Let the potatoes cool for a couple of minutes, then slice open.
- Top with your favorite toppings, like butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, or bacon bits.
Notes
Don’t Skip the Fork Pricks – These allow steam to escape, preventing the potatoes from bursting in the air fryer.
Flip Halfway – This ensures an even cook and crispy skin all around.
Check for Doneness – If you’re unsure, poke the potatoes with a fork to check for tenderness. If they need more time, cook in 5-minute increments.
